Forest School will be on Wednesday this half term

The children have enjoyed forest school and are looking forward to another half term of outdoor experiences

We really enjoyed sharing our work about the Titanic on our exhibition day. We worked hard to write information pages and create beautiful art pieces using a variety of tools. materials and skills. It was fun to find out whether our boats would sink or float!

DT - We tasted, designed and made Couscous salads and then we tasted and evaluated our creations.

In our science we investigated the micro-habitats on the heathland and went on a bug hunt. We found centipedes, woodlice, flies, worms and lots of plants and shrubs.

In our whole school art we were challenged to create a piece of art in the style of Andy Goldsworthy. Didn't we do a great job!

PIRATE DAY!

To introduce our new topic about Pirates we did lots of fun activities.  We went to the hall to meet a real life pirate, where we learned about the history of pirates, real Vs fake pirates, true and false facts.  We also looked at a mysterious sack that had arrived at school. We had to guess who the things belonged to and we then read “Polly Parrot Picks a Pirate” to find out what it is like to be a pirate.  Finally, we did lots of sensory activities in role as a pirate. It was super fun!

Writing Ideas for Newspaper Reports - We worked with a partner to write a headline and the first line of a newspaper report about the Great Fire of London.

Autumn Pointillism

Netball - We really enjoyed our Netball lessons as part of our enhanced P.E. curriculum. We were taught by a professional coach and built up our skills over six weeks.
