School Events Explained

Here is a brief explanation of some of our regular school events that parents are invited to come along to. If you have further questions about any of these events, please speak to your child's class teacher.

BOOK LOOKS (WHOLE SCHOOL)

An opportunity for parents to visit your child’s class at the end of the school day to look at your child’s school books and to share in their learning.  Book Looks run on two alternative days during the same week to give parents a choice of day to attend.

CLASS ASSEMBLIES

An opportunity for children to show parents what they have been learning by way of a short class presentation in the school hall lasting around 15-20 minutes after morning drop-off.

READING SESSIONS FOR PARENTS (WHOLE SCHOOL)

An opportunity for parents to visit your child’s classroom immediately after morning drop-off to share a book with your child.  Due to safeguarding, we cannot facilitate siblings attending the school to read together during these sessions so we suggest parents spend 15 minutes with each child. No younger siblings to attend due to limited classroom capacity.

SHARED LEARNING (YEAR R ONLY)

An opportunity once a term for one adult to come into school to experience the learning on offer within your child’s classroom and their allocated outdoor area.  No siblings to attend due to limited classroom capacity.

WINTER WARMERS READING EVENT (WHOLE SCHOOL)

An opportunity for your child/ren and one parent to come back to school in the late afternoon to listen to a teacher share some new story books.   Children (and parents!) are encouraged to wear pyjamas and bring cushions and pillows to get cosy.  You will also be offered a hot chocolate with marshmallows!
