Heron Class

What have we been learning this week?

Week Commencing Monday 15th December 2025

This week, we have been learning about Christmas. We learnt about why Christians celebrate Christmas and created our own nativity scenes by using puppets, drawing or using Purple Mash. We have been lucky enough to have TWO parties each this week, one in our mainstream and one altogether in Heron Class. We played pass the parcel and musical statues and had a good old Christmas boogie!

Have an amazing Christmas!

Important days in our week:

Tuesday: Reading books sent in to be changed.

Wednesday: New reading books sent home.

Thursday: Forest school (PM).

Friday: Library books to be changed.

Heron Class - Resourced Provision for Children with Autism.

Our Resourced Provision for children with Autism opened in September 2025. Children’s places are funded by Hampshire Educational Authority and spaces are allocated through County systems.

Our Resourced Provision consists of a main classroom and an enclosed outside play area. Both the classroom and garden have a range of features and resources to support sensory and regulation needs.

We follow the National Curriculum, adapted to meet children’s developing academic needs. Children in the Resourced Provision are expected to join some lessons in a mainstream class. This helps children develop their social, communication and academic skills. This offer can vary for individuals and is flexible, based on their individual needs and skills.

If you wish to find more information about the school’s Resourced Provision, please contact the School Office on 01252 613582.

Please note that whilst we are happy to show you around the Resourced Provision, it is the Local Authority that offers children a place and not the school.
