Heron Class

What have we been learning this week?

Week Commencing Monday 27th April 2026

This week, we have been learning about "The Enormous Turnip". We have been practising using colourful semantics to construct and write sentences. We also learnt about how farming has changed over the years and watched videos of how horses used to help plough fields instead of tractors!  We had an amazing opportunity to take part in a music workshop. We explored lots of new instruments and had so much fun playing along to some songs with Mr Needs (ask us about our rock star poses). We have been learning about the number 18, and we have used lots of resources to create the number in different ways.

Important days in our week:

Shared Learning and Art Sale - 2nd March 2026

We have been getting ready for our art sale on the 2nd March by making clay coasters with patterns on. Some of us have even drawn our class animal, the Heron!

Heron Class - Resourced Provision for Children with Autism.

Our Resourced Provision for children with Autism opened in September 2025. Children’s places are funded by Hampshire Educational Authority and spaces are allocated through County systems.

Our Resourced Provision consists of a main classroom and an enclosed outside play area. Both the classroom and garden have a range of features and resources to support sensory and regulation needs.

We follow the National Curriculum, adapted to meet children’s developing academic needs. Children in the Resourced Provision are expected to join some lessons in a mainstream class. This helps children develop their social, communication and academic skills. This offer can vary for individuals and is flexible, based on their individual needs and skills.

If you wish to find more information about the school’s Resourced Provision, please contact the School Office on 01252 613582.

Please note that whilst we are happy to show you around the Resourced Provision, it is the Local Authority that offers children a place and not the school.
