Heron Class

What have we been learning this week?

Week Commencing Monday 8th June 2026

This week, we have been learning about "1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Once I Caught a Fish Alive." We all knew this nursery rhyme, so we had a karaoke session singing it as a whole class. We have been collaging fish, looking at sea creatures, exploring the ocean sensory tray and reading books about fish. In maths, we have been learning about measuring. We used cubes to measure how tall the dinosaurs were. We also compared all of our heights using centimetres, to see who was the tallest and shortest.

Important days in our week - Summer B:

Shared Learning and Art Sale - 2nd March 2026

We have been getting ready for our art sale on the 2nd March by making clay coasters with patterns on. Some of us have even drawn our class animal, the Heron!

Heron Class - Resourced Provision for Children with Autism.

Our Resourced Provision for children with Autism opened in September 2025. Children’s places are funded by Hampshire Educational Authority and spaces are allocated through County systems.

Our Resourced Provision consists of a main classroom and an enclosed outside play area. Both the classroom and garden have a range of features and resources to support sensory and regulation needs.

We follow the National Curriculum, adapted to meet children’s developing academic needs. Children in the Resourced Provision are expected to join some lessons in a mainstream class. This helps children develop their social, communication and academic skills. This offer can vary for individuals and is flexible, based on their individual needs and skills.

If you wish to find more information about the school’s Resourced Provision, please contact the School Office on 01252 613582.

Please note that whilst we are happy to show you around the Resourced Provision, it is the Local Authority that offers children a place and not the school.
