Forest School day: Thursday mornings

In Autumn Term 2, the children will have their weekly P.E lessons on a Friday. 

On these days, please ensure children come to school with long hair tied back and earrings either removed or taped over.  Please ensure P.E kits are kept in school at all times and returned after a club.  P.E days are subject to change with timetabling issues and weather.

Number Pairs

We have been using tens frames to practice our pairs of numbers within ten.  We have been using part, part, whole frames (or cherry models) to practice our subtraction facts within ten.  We found these really helpful so we could see the ways the numbers linked together.  

You Choose

After reading the book 'You Choose' by Nick Sharratt and Pippa Goodhart we enjoyed looking at all the amazing illustrations and talking about the different choices we would make. We then drew our own pictures and wrote what we would choose.

Sketching

We have been learning about toys from the past as part of our History unit.  We enjoyed playing with them and then looking closely to sketch them.  We thought about the shapes, texture and details.
