You Choose
One of our stories in English is You Choose. The children selected a variety of items from the story that they would choose and wrote down their reasons as to why they would choose those items. It was nice to see the children using their capital letters, full stops and finger spaces in their writing as well as writing on the line.
Billy Goat Gruff Rafts
In Science, we have been identifying different materials and explaining the properties that certain materials have. We read the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff before discovering that the Billy Goat needed a raft to get across the river due to the troll being under the bridge. The children were teamed up with different materials to test which materials worked best as a raft for the Billy Goat. It was lovely to see the children working together and finding out if their rafts floated or sunk.
Old Toys
As part of our history topic, we have been exploring and comparing the similarities and differences of old toys and modern toys. The children then got to have first hand experiences of playing with the old toys. It was very interesting (and nostalgic) to see all the different toys.
